By Dorry Bed and Breakfast is more than your average Bali
villa, it is a piece of art constructed from the idea and guidance of
Indonesian native, Dorry Afidick. "By Dorry" started off as a brand
which labeled all of her creations. Let it be from a simple shirt design
to a shower curtain pattern, Dorry always left her stamp with the two
words "By Dorry." Now not only can these two words be found on her home
made designs, but on the front of a beautiful Ubud villa.
The villa started off as an idea which bloomed into a real life on going project. Dorry works closely with her architect in building the structures of the villa but insists on all of the artistic decor and design of the villa herself. By Dorry Bed and Breakfast is an extension of Dorry's creative mind. Everything from the door panels, to chairs, to bathroom tiles, to dressers; these things are hand chosen and placed personally by Dorry herself. Being a natural at selecting colors and patterns, Dorry's role in the villa's look and feel is very personal. The villa captures her fiery spirit and love for colors.
The Location
By Dorry Bed and Breakfast is a family run establishment that not only gives you the peace and comfort of your home away from home, but at the same time offers the true experience of Bali.
Located about three kilometers from Ubud Market, this inn is surrounded by lush, green and golden rice fields that offer you an amazing, undisturbed view within Pejeng Kawan Village. Being located away from the crowded area, it offers a place of peace and tranquility, a place where you can escape for a real vacation for your body and soul. But along with its easy location for retreat, it is still in close location to many Bali tourist sights and activities while still encompassing the hidden, everyday lives of the local Balinese people.
The Rooms
Dorry, her family and staff will ensure that you stay in a home away from home, be it for a couple days or for a longer stay. Each of the rooms are uniquely decorated with antique Javanese and Balinese furniture. To the bed frame to the doorways, By Dorry is personally decorated by Dorry Afidick herself encompassing the creative color palettes and patterns of traditional Indonesia while simultaneously mixing in modern pieces to create a familiar comfort to each room and living space. What also is available in every room is your own bathroom, patio deck, and air conditioning. Along with a communal living space with tv and kitchen. Your stay will also include breakfast for two.
Ubud
Ubud is the town in which By Dorry is located. In reference to Bali Island, Ubud is centrally located. In comparison to other Bali towns, like Kuta, Ubud is more quiet being regarded as the cultural center of Bali making its focus on arts, natural sights, and beautiful structures. All through out the streets and surrounding areas you will find small cafes, art gallerias big and small, historic temples, shops, and many alluring, natural sights. Also being a very ritualistic and spiritual place, you will be able to see the local people perform in everyday worship, prayers and even ceremonies.
