How much we interact is totally up to you. Enjoy your 1-bedroom apartment in privacy, but know that if you have any questions or problems that my wife and I are available 24/7 to make suggestions or help with anything.
Over the years we've had people working on projects for weeks at a time or just here to seriously unwind, and we've barely seen them. Our unit is perfect for that. (Yes my guy can help w/visa extensions if your plans change--we've done this quite a bit!)
We also have spent time with guests, having dinner together etc. My wife and I are friendly and like people, so as I say we're here and available, and however you want to spend your time, we can accommodate you!
Guests have told us our unit is terrific, but the location makes it even better.
There are so many small hassles you won't be dealing with: getting to the beach through Bali's worsening traffic, parking once you get to the beach, security concerns (we have 24/7 security), even local power outages, common at some times of the year won't be a problem since our hotel complex has a generator.
You'll have a kitchenette but Bali's restaurants are so inexpensive and with such high standards that you'll love exploring dining options. I have 6-8 favorite restaurants withing short walking distance, and dozens of very good ones just a $2 taxi ride away.
I'll direct you to the nice Balinese man with a laundry service that we use, just a short walk away.
The Bintang market is walkable, or a short taxi ride.
So it's all here really, everything you need and everything you want!

so getting around is very simple. I personally just walk and take taxis.
If you want to rent a motorbike or a car for that matter, we do have free parking inside the complex.
If you prefer not to have a bike/car I recommend taking Bluebird taxis anywhere you need to go. They are clean and air-conditioned, the drivers speak English and always turn the meter on without being asked. The meter drop is less than US 50 cents and most trips will be 1 or 2 dollars.
